The Nature of Thought – Part IV

by Mr. Iain Kirkaldy-Willis,

Naturalistic Philosopher

Canary Islands, Spain

What science-in-the-lab has to say about DNA is, by its own reckoning, but 5% of the story! So what about the rest! Since DNA is very much about who we are, it would be good if we knew.

The last article (Part III) broached that in pointing at how First Peoples experienced the world – directly – something that places them at the heart of Life, each in their own way, letting them access anything they want, simply because it pertains to their existence. What a far cry this is from science that operates within the closed circuit of a chosen framework and is restricted, thereby, only to evidence acceptable within its parameters.

There have already been references to Quantum phenomena and thinking in previous articles. In this article let´s explore the way Quantum Theory can help to understand the world indigenous peoples experience directly and what its limits are as but another framework for knowledge restricted to the parameters that prescribe it.

As we look into these matters through the accompanying image/text presentations, it will be evident why it is possible to say what has just been stated. This will, furthermore, affirm the unique position a person who experiences Life directly is in, with regard to who they are and the place this puts them in at the heart of everything about Life. However, there are one or two issues that should be identified first.

The last article compared what is becoming known of DNA with the grasp many indigenous peoples had (some still do!) of the Heart of the World as being as much within as without, so that there is this being at the centre of Life and living from there. In previous articles´ investigations and reflection parallels have already been drawn upon from Quantum-speak. However, there is the question about how useful this is in the long run, when we are aware that, by nature, the Absolute is unfathomable - Quantum Theory thus being but another framework in the perennial attempt to manhandle the unfathomable and scale it down to human size, having us pretend the incomprehensible is comprehensible, thereby by-passing what is unfathomable about it.

This article carries 3 image/text series (Quantum Experience, Quantum Living and Quantum Biology) for reflection upon the matter; to consider Ultimate Reality through looking at how Quantum ideas pertain; the extent to which Quantum Theory is relevant, and to identify the limits to how far the intellectual nature of such an exercise can take us, not just in terms of coming to terms with The Infinite, but with regard to knowing who we are, in order to actually live in accordance with that, as the part of It that each of us is.
