Globalized Corporate Warfare on the Middle Classes:

The World Wealth Division and Peace

by Prof. Dr. I. Fayez M. Marai
Zagazig University, Egypt

The normal distribution of wealth that occurs freely according to talents of people or countries, is accepted by all mankind. But the wealth distribution that occurs by any means of obligation, will cause unstable conditions in the World.

Now, the global economic arrangements such as the GATT, WTO,… etc., are means of pushing all countries (either developed or developing) to be involved in a type of economy, based on the free-trade.

The pro- "free-trade" people sell the bill of goods on GATT, WTO, … etc on the grounds that without these trade modifications, the developing countries are doomed to eternal poverty, unless they can access the markets in the developed countries.

However, practically, the GATT treaty is pushing most developing countries to a system which they are not qualified to apply, either at the time fixed to set the treaty to work or in the future, i.e. such countries will not be able, either now or in the future, to compete with the multinationals with their high-tech mass-produced low priced products, or to continue to produce their modest products, that will make them import DEBT not goods. This means that the negative effects of such system will actually doom such counties to eternal poverty.

It is well known that the free trade agreements are formed between rather equal economics and not necessarily adjacent to each other. But the multinationals, the economic blocks and monopolization of scientific progress and technology show that there are other plans.

Some of what we are dealing here is that these economic arrangements will involve profit without any other consideration, that will lead to that the globe, eventually, will be covered not with names of countries but names of corporations. The danger here will be that such countries may loose the power to govern themselves, in a World with a very rich dominant master and minor countries without identities.

Now, the bilateral and partially multilateral free trade area agreements are already discouraged by the WTO, but the WTO rules are no picnic either!

Then, how will the economic blocks and multinationals not conflict with the genuine free-trade and how well will any of such economic arrangements contribute to a stable peaceful World?
